Near Cingjing Farm, the high-altitude cool climate makes it perfect for enjoying Taiwan’s signature “clay pot roast chicken” (Weng Zai Ji). These whole chickens are slow-roasted in clay ovens, with crispy skin and juicy meat, often served with sweet potatoes and mountain vegetables.
Top picks include Guomin Hotel Roast Chicken, Lu Mama Yunnan Cuisine, and other roadside eateries that specialize in fragrant, smoky roast chicken meals.

Grilled wild boar skewers – savory and freshly grilled over charcoal.
Assam black tea ice cream – a sweet treat made from the region’s famous tea.
Crispy Magao chicken wings – seasoned with indigenous mountain pepper.
Bamboo rice – sticky rice steamed inside bamboo tubes for an earthy aroma.
