Route Introduction
Starting from Kaohsiung, day one includes Pier-2 Art Center, Qijin ferry experience, National Museum of Marine Biology, and Guanshan sunset before enjoying Kenting’s lively night street. Day two features Kenting’s Longpan grasslands, Eluanbi Lighthouse at Taiwan’s southern tip, Shadao beach, and fresh seafood at Houbi Lake before heading to Tainan. Day three explores Anping Fort, the old streets, then a visit to Tianchang Dijiu Longyin Temple en route to Alishan, including scenic Jhaoping, Sister Pond, and Giant Trees Trail. On day four, visit Fenqihu Station, enjoy the tea plantations, then proceed to Sun Moon Lake’s Xiangshan Visitor Center and lakeside cycling. Day five includes a lake cruise, a cable car ride with panoramic lake views, and a stop at Puli Brewery before returning comfortably to Taipei with the same private vehicle and driver.

Kaohsiung’s most iconic creative and cultural park, transformed from old port warehouses. The industrial architecture is preserved while being filled with art exhibitions, street performances, installations, and creative markets, making it a magnet for young artists and visitors. The light rail station inside the park also improves accessibility.

A classic seaside district across Kaohsiung Harbor, accessible by ferry. It blends marine culture, temples, and historical sites with fresh seafood restaurants and sandy beaches. You can climb to Cihou Fort or the lighthouse for a panoramic ocean view.

National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium
One of Taiwan’s largest marine museums, showcasing ocean ecosystems from Taiwan and around the world. Highlights include an 84-meter undersea tunnel where visitors feel surrounded by fish and coral, plus polar exhibits with penguins — perfect for family or educational trips.

A small hill on the west side of the Hengchun Peninsula, famous for spectacular sunsets. As the sun sinks into the Pacific, golden light bathes the fields and sea. A few vendors sell drinks and snacks around the viewing platform for visitors to relax.

Day 2: Kenting → Longpan Grasslands → Eluanbi Lighthouse → Shadao → Houbi Lake seafood → Tainan
Located on Kenting’s eastern cliffs, this wide-open grassland sits about 200 meters above sea level, offering endless ocean views and dramatic waves. It’s a popular sunrise and stargazing spot thanks to its unobstructed horizon.

Dubbed the “Light of East Asia,” this iconic white lighthouse was built in 1882 and sits at Taiwan’s southernmost tip. The surrounding park features informational signs and walking paths, offering insight into maritime history and coastal scenery.

A beautiful beach known for its white shell sand and crystal-clear blue waters. It is designated as a protected ecological area, so some zones are restricted, but visitors can still enjoy stunning tropical seaside views.

One of Kenting’s top fishing harbors, famous for its fresh catches prepared in nearby restaurants at affordable prices. Lobster, sashimi, and other seafood delicacies attract countless food lovers.

Day 3: Tainan → Anping Fort → Old Streets → Tianchang Dijiu Longyin Temple → Alishan Jhaoping → Sister Pond → Giant Trees → Alishan
The oldest Western-style fortress in Taiwan, built by the Dutch in the 17th century. Over time it was rebuilt and modified during the Qing era, blending multiple cultural influences. You can climb the watchtower for views over Anping Harbor and the old streets.

Next to the fort, this historic lane is lined with traditional snack shops and craft stalls. Visitors can taste shrimp rolls, preserved fruits, or traditional pastries while soaking up the nostalgic atmosphere.

Tianchang Dijiu Longyin Temple
A well-known temple near Tainan, dedicated to praying for faithful and long-lasting relationships. It features ornate architecture, detailed carvings, and a constant flow of worshippers.


About 2,200 meters above sea level, Zhaoping is famous for cherry blossom viewing in spring. The wooden boardwalks and old railway platform reveal the century-old Alishan rail culture.

A key stop on the Alishan Forest Railway, surrounded by preserved wooden houses and nostalgic bento culture. Train enthusiasts love its historic setting.

Day 5: Sun Moon Lake → Lake Cruise → Cable Car → Tea Factory → Puli Brewery → Taipei
A boat cruise across Taiwan’s largest lake lets you see its beauty from various angles, visiting small piers and Thao aboriginal villages along the way.

Connecting Sun Moon Lake with the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village, this aerial ride takes about seven minutes and offers breathtaking panoramic lake and mountain views.

A preserved Japanese-era red-brick building with old tea processing equipment on display. Guests can learn about tea-making history and sample local Assam tea.

A historic winery famous for Shaoxing rice wine and Taiwanese rice liquors. Exhibitions explain traditional brewing methods, and visitors can taste or buy souvenirs to take home.
